Tami Foley is the Department of Human Service's Community Empowerment Liaison and a member of the State Empowerment Technical Assistance Team. Tami began her employment with the State of Iowa in December 1999 in the Child Support Recovery Policy Unit. Before working for the State, Tami worked for Drake University Head Start for five years, first as a family advocate in the Norwalk Head Start Center and then as a nutrition assistant for the organization.
Tami has a Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University in Home Economic Extension and completed considerable amounts of masters-level coursework at Iowa State University in the area of Family Studies.
With a child under age five and a dog, Tami and her husband stay busy. When there is a free moment, Tami enjoys sewing and quilting. From year to year, you may even see some of Tami's work in the Fabric and Thread's Department at the Iowa State Fair.
