Independent Expenditures
Please review 2010 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2354, that made several changes to independent expenditure regulations.
This page contains information of interest for persons seeking to make an independent expenditure within Iowa. An independent expenditure is a communication that advocates for or against a candidate or ballot issue and not done with the approval or coordination of a committee. A person making an independent expenditure also has additional campaign reporting duties. Contact the Board for guidance.
