This page contains information of interest for persons seeking to make an independent expenditure within Iowa. An independent expenditure is a communication that advocates for or against a candidate or ballot issue and not done with the approval or coordination of a committee. A person making an independent expenditure also has additional campaign reporting duties. Contact the Board for guidance.
