“MetaBank Survey” is a Mega Scam!

Avoiding fraud

Did you receive an email that appeared to come from MetaBank, claiming that you had been chosen to take part in an online survey in exchange for a $50 credit to your account?

The truth is you have been targeted by criminals!

Many Iowans received the email, from “metabank@survey.com, ” requesting them to complete a customer satisfaction survey.  In addition to the customer satisfaction questions, the survey asks recipients to provide their Social Security number, credit card information and even an ATM personal identification number (PIN).  While the “survey” claims the personal information will enable you to receive a $50 credit, this fraudulent survey is really a phishing scam.

If you submitted any credit card or debit card information, notify your card provider immediately and report the case to the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov.
