Attorney General's Office comment re Rodney Heemstra Supreme Court decision

The Court's decision overturned longstanding precedent and announced a change in the law on felony murder. Naturally, we are disappointed with the outcome of this case. But as always, we respect the Court's authority and we expect to retry this case.

Regarding the Court's decision as it affects the physician-patient privilege and criminal defendants' access to crime victims' medical records, we will continue to advocate for and seek to protect victims' rights to the fullest extent allowed by and consistent with the Court's decision.
