Present: Evelyn Rank, Chair; Terry Rogers, Robert Miller, Barbara Leestamper,
James Hughes.

LuAnn Julstrom, staff.
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Leestamper moved,
seconded by Rogers, to go into closed session pursuant to Iowa
Code 21.5(1)(d) and Iowa Code 21.5(1)(f). Roll call vote was as
follows: Miller, aye; Hughes, aye; Rank, aye; Rogers, aye; Leestamper,
aye. Motion carried unanimously. The Commission entered into closed
session at 9:03 a.m. and arose therefrom at 9:25 a.m. Recommendations
from the investigative committee were discussed.
Leestamper moved, seconded by Rogers, to close the following cases:

Miller moved, seconded by Hughes, to close following cases:

Rogers
moved, seconded by Leestamper, to find probable cause in the
following cases: 00-17 00-056
Rogers moved, seconded by Leestamper, to accept the signed informal
settlement in case 99-095. Motion carried unanimously.
At 9:29 a.m., Pam Griebel left the meeting. A call was placed
to Administrative Law Judge Randy Stephenson concerning the State's
Petition for Rehearing in case 99-051. Judge Stephenson recommended
that the technical corrections be approved and an amended decision
be issued. Miller moved, seconded by Leestamper, to approve the
changes to the decision. Motion carried unanimously. Griebel rejoined
the meeting.
Rogers moved, Miller seconded, to approve the minutes of the May
25 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
The
Investigative Committee for August 15, 2000, at 10:00 a.m. will
be Leestamper and Rogers. For the September 27 meeting,
Rank and Miller will be the Investigative Committee.
Leestamper moved, seconded by Miller, to deny the waiver of mandatory
continuing education classes requested by Donald Joines. Motion
carried unanimously.
Leestamper moved, seconded by Rogers, to grant the request for
consideration made by Michael Shuger for the reinstatement period
of his license to expire in 2002 rather than 2000. Motion carried
unanimously.
Griebel reported on the next Board orientation to be held by the
Governor's office in August. Information will be sent out.
Griffel reported that the third quarter issue of the newsletter
would be mailed out July 7. PSI opens new exam sites on July 10th
in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Council Bluffs.. There will be
an instructor development workshop on August 13.
Hansen reported on the June orientation for commissioners. He
is on the Board of Directors for ARELLO and will be attending the
ARELLO Central District Meeting in July.
Paul McLaughlin, IAR, reported on the ethics seminar held by the
IAR relating to proceedings for ethics complaints, and he announced
the IAR golf outing on July 24 that benefits the UNI Real Estate
Program. He also reported that there is a radon task force to study
that problem. He has been appointed to the Governor's Housing Task
Force.
Rogers moved, seconded by Miller, to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously.
