The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
Randy Luze appeared at the meeting to discuss his request for
variance and answer questions. Woline moved, second by Hughes to
grant a variance from 543B.15(8) and substitute prior experience
to satisfy the two year salesperson experience to qualify a broker
license.
Roll call vote as follows: Miller, aye; Hughes, aye; Rank, aye;
Woline, aye; Leestamper, aye. Motion carried with all voting aye.
Rank moved, second by Woline to go into closed session at 9:15
a.m. pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(1)(d) and Iowa Code 21.5(1)(f).
Roll call vote as follows: Hughes, aye; Miller, aye; Rank, aye;
Woline, aye; Leestamper, aye. Motion carried unanimously.
The Commission entered into closed session at 9:15 a.m. and arose
therefrom at 10:04 a.m.
Hughes moved, second by Leestamper to find probable cause in case
number 01-060. Motion carried unanimously.
Rank moved, second by Woline to close the following cases: 01-106;
01-057; 01-097; 01-078; 01-079; 01-055; 01-082; 01-089; 01-080;
02-001.
Motion carried unanimously.
Hughes moved, second by Rank to approve minutes of December 6,
2001. Motion carried unanimously.
Hughes appointed Woline and Leestamper to the investigation committee
which will meet on April 17, 2002 at 1:30 p.m.
The Commission reviewed and discussed Iowa Code sections 543B.57
and 543B.57(3). There appeared to be no need for additional rules
for clarification. If specific questions, problems, or situations
are submitted, the sections could be reviewed again based on the
new information.
Hughes reported that he has been invited to speak in Cedar Rapids
at the Cedar Rapids Board of Realtors meeting.
Griffel reported she was working on revisions to the continuing
education rules in the new chapters 16 and 17.
Hansen is continuing to work on the rewrite of the rules. He reported
input and assistance from Paul McLaughlin, Tim Meline and Pam Griebel.
Hansen has been appointed to the ARELLO Examination Certification
Council whose charge is to review exams submitted by providers
and determine if the exam meets acceptable standards to be ARELLO
certified.
Paul McLaughlin, IAR, reported that the link to the ARELLO License
Data Base on the Commission Home Page is a good source for information.
He also stated there is some interest within the association toward
identifying and sharing resources, including local board mergers.
Hughes moved, second by Leestamper to adjourn. The motion carried
unanimously.
