October 2, 2003 MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 9:10 a.m.
As a courtesy, Hughes elected to change the order of the agenda
and begin with public comment.
Paul McLaughlin from the IAR reported on the 2003 Convention.
Woline moved, seconded by O'Neill, to go into closed session pursuant
to Iowa Code 21.5(1)(d) and 21.5(1)(f). Roll call vote was as follows:
Woline, aye; Daniels, aye; O'Neill, aye; Hughes, aye; Dawley, aye.
Motion carried unanimously. The Commission entered into closed
session at 9:15 a.m. and arose therefrom at 10:58 a.m.
Woline moved, seconded by O'Neill to find probable cause on Case
03-018. Motion carried unanimously.
Dawley moved, seconded by Daniels to close the following cases:
02-104; 03-015; 03-066; 03-055; 03-062; 03-073; 03-001; 02-098.
Motion carried unanimously.
Dawley moved, seconded by O'Neill to approve the August 28, 2003
and September 11, 2003 minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Future meetings are scheduled as follows:
November 19 investigative committee: Dawley, Woline
November 20 Commission Meeting
The December 18, 2003 meeting is canceled.
Hughes reported that he and Hansen met with IAR leadership to
find common grounds on fees and budget.
Griebel reported on the Franich appeal. The final briefs have
been filed.
Hansen introduced Jeff Evans. Evans is the new field auditor for
the Real Estate Commission.
Griffel handed out copies of the newest Division Newsletter.
Griffel expressed concerns from the field that salespersons are
able to upgrade to a broker without having to complete the first
time renewal requirement of salespersons.
Hansen reported Bill Schroeder continues to serve as Acting Director
and as such, Schroeder moving forward with filling two additional
vacant division staff positions.
Motion was made by Daniels and seconded by Woline to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
