Child Advocacy Board

The Child Advocacy Board, appointed by the Governor, works to ensure that children in Iowa's child welfare system are well cared for and that the system designed to meet their needs is doing so in the most effective manner possible. The Board oversees the state's Local Foster Care Review Boards and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. These programs recruit, train and support hundreds of community volunteers throughout the state devoted to helping protect the best interests of abused and neglected children.
