On April 30, 2013, Iowa-American Water Company filed a proposal to increase its water utility rates with the Iowa Utilities Board. Iowa-American is requesting a permanent rate change to increase its annual revenues by approximately $6.44 million (18 percent). If approved by the Board, the average monthly residential customer bills would see an increase of $6.13. As allowed by Iowa law without Board approval, Iowa-American implemented an interim rate increase on May 10, 2013, to generate approximately $2.68 million, subject to refund. The Board held consumer comment meetings in Bettendorf and Clinton in June 2013. All documents filed in this rate case, Docket No. RPU-2013-0002, are available on the Board’s electronic filing system.
